The annual Allegheny West Conference Town Hall meeting was held at the Southeast SDA Church on Sabbath evening, January 23rd, 2016. All area churches were well represented by supportive members.
Conference President, Pastor William T. Cox, explained the financial status of the conference in detail informing the members of the highs and lows of our economy. Information was shared regarding the solution to the monetary deficit to help the conference become financially healthy again. We were given an exclusive insight into the hierarchy of the conference, with an explanation of the loss of some pastors, while we gained new, volunteer pastors that have accepted positions into the ministry. In addition, staff members have been added to the conference to increase awareness in ministry and evangelism.
The Allegheny West Conference will celebrate 50 years as an independent conference in 2017. New and exciting strategies for celebrating our 50 years were shared with the members by Pastor Jack McCrary. They include plans to raise $1,000,000+ to continue developing the campground and to provide quality services to the new conference office. A 5,000 person photo album is in the works, as well as a fashion show, a black tie gala affair and other fundraising ideas.
