Seniors Speak on What Keeps Them Rooted in the Adventist Faith
Oftentimes, seniors in our churches are rarely heard from, or acknowledged as having a wise voice. But at Southeast, there are three senior women who have a voice that is worth hearing. These are the voices of the McKinney sisters, better known as Helen Brown, Mary Chapman and Verdais Johnston.
Feeding My Sheep: A Labor of Love
A beautiful story is told by Margaret Reed and Judith Denton about a beloved former member who relocated to another state named Hazel Gilleylen. While feeding the homeless in downtown Cleveland one cold Sabbath afternoon, Sister Gilleylen noticed a young woman shivering. Without a second thought, she removed her own gloves and gave them to the woman. This kind of selfless, Christlike behavior characterizes the mission of Community Service.
