Elder Deborah A. Hill shared a celebratory connection to an NBA legend recently honored for his philanthropic work. On Sunday, February 20, 2022, Dikembe Mutombo, 8-time NBA All-Star, was honored at the 22nd Annual NBA Legends Awards during the 75th All-Star Games event, hosted by the city of Cleveland, OH.
According to Elder Hill, the former Denver Nugget was presented with “the Global Ambassador Award for his humanitarian work in the Republic of Congo. Among his projects, Mutombo is building a hospital to honor his late mother, Biemba Marie Mutombo.”
The humanitarian work of Mutombo has also been recognized by Washington Adventist University. Elder Hill stated that she feels, “blessed and honored to meet Dikembe Mutombo.” Dr. Weymouth Spence, President of the university, along with Elder Hill, a Board of Trustees member, honored Dikembe Mutombo for his philanthropic work in the Republic of Congo.
