The Cleveland Foodbank
The Cleveland Foodbank is the largest source of food for hunger centers in Northeast Ohio.  They supply a majority of the food used in local hot meal sites, shelters, food pantries, child care centers, group homes, and programs for the elderly. The Foodbank works closely with other Northeast Ohio hunger relief organizations, providing food and nonfood products to hunger centers administered by the Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland,  the Salvation Army, among others.

Feeding America
Feeding America is the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity. Their mission is to feed America’s hungry through a nationwide network of member food banks and engage our country in the fight to end hunger.  Each year, the Feeding America network provides food assistance to more than 25 million low-income people facing hunger in the United States, including more than 9 million children and nearly 3 million seniors.

Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland
The Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland reduces hunger in our community by providing food and linkages to other vital services for hungry people, especially children and families by actively participating in the coordinated response to people in need. This emergency food network was formed over 30 years ago by The Interchurch Council of Greater Cleveland to address the increasing need for emergency food for children and adults in Cuyahoga County. This upsurge in need for food security was brought on by a combination of cuts in public welfare programs and a recession. In 1995, with the help and blessing of the Cuyahoga County Commissioners, The Hunger Taskforce became an independent organization renamed the Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland (HNGC).

Ohio Children’s Hunger Alliance
Approximately 500,000 children in Ohio are currently hungry or at-risk of hunger. Studies show that hungry children: 1) Have more health problems, 2) Exhibit more disruptive behavior, 3) Are more likely to be tardy or absent from school, 4) Score lower on achievement tests. Children’s Hunger Alliance exists to ensure every Ohio child receives nutritious meals and snacks throughout each day. Children’s Hunger Alliance is a statewide agency that works with schools, child care providers, faith-based and youth-serving organizations to help them access resources to feed children. The agency also provides physical fitness programs and nutrition education to teach healthy habits for life.

Food Research and Action Center
The Food Research and Action Center (FRAC) is the leading national nonprofit organization working to improve public policies and public-private partnerships to eradicate hunger and undernutrition in the United States. FRAC works with hundreds of national, state and local nonprofit organizations, public agencies, and corporations to address hunger and its root cause, poverty. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, 38 million people in our nation – 13.9 million of them children – live in households that suffer from hunger or live on the edge of hunger. This hunger and “food insecurity” are far too widespread in our wealthy society. Hunger in the United States is a problem that can be cured.
