Fallen Warriors

"For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive."

Many mighty warriors have fallen on the battlefield since the Southeast Church was organized. The lives of Deacons Mylas Martin, Sr. and Richard Boykin were representative of the character and spirit of all our deceased members. We pay tribute to them and we continue to mourn their loss.

Deacon Mylas Martin, Sr.

The church owes a debt of gratitude to Deacon Mylas Martin, Sr., which will never be able to repay for their faithfulness in completing the interior church decoration. Not only did Bro. Martin design the color scheme for the church interior, but he spent untold numbers of hours painting and directing the work of volunteers.

Louise Martin

Sister Louise Martin is Southeast's "miracle" lady. The Lord heard our fervent prayers in her behalf and restored her to health. Her indomitable spirit and courage are an inspiration to young and old alike. She is a rich source of historical information and insists on doing her part in any church endeavor. We love her dearly.

Deacon Richard Boykin

Deacon Richard Boykin's love for Southeast and his influence can be seen in every room of the church. He spent countless hours running errands, shopping for supplies and equipment, and rendering assistance whenever and wherever needed. His many offices included Sabbath School Teacher, Finance Committee member, Building Committee member and Assistant Treasurer.
Elder John and Sister Ann Robinson

Sis. Robinson was Southeastıs first Superintendent of Sabbath School and coined the phrase "Organize to Evangelize." She and Elder Robinson canvassed the neighborhood bringing in many new members. Elder Robinson continued to minister to the sick and shut-in until his health failed. Giving of their time, talent and treasure, they were faithful and dedicated to the end.
