THERE IS HOPE
Hope is the desire for something good with the anticipation of receiving it.
MANY PEOPLE LOOSE HOPE WHEN
We Feel Out of Control of Our Circumstances
- Hopelessness comes when we feel our situation is too great for us to handle.
- We usually worry if we are going to fail or disappoint others.
But, we cannot disappoint God. He knows us and loves us regardless of what we do or donıt do in life.
We Feel Abandoned by God
- Satan loves to temp us into thinking that God has turned his back on us, but he loves us with an eternal love, and he will never abandon us.
Dreams and Plans Seem Shattered
- There will be times when we long for a certain event to take place, yet we discover that God has altered our plans.
- In times like this we need to turn our face to the Lord and ask him to give us his very best even though that may mean a change in our dreams.
- God always has good in mind for us.
REASON FOR YOUR HOPE
The Source
1 Timothy 1
"Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our hope"
God understands your situation. He knows that painful circumstances can leave you wondering if you will ever experience a sense of lasting hope again. Before Abraham Lincoln became President of the United States, he was defeated for public office 4 times.
He was elected to US Congress in 1846 and it was not until 14 years later in 1860 that Lincoln was elected for President of the United States. He refused to give up and dared to believe in the impossible.
God is your constant source of encouragement. He is your strength whenever you feel alone or discouraged. The reason you can have hope is because you have a living Savior who has a mighty plan in mind for your life.
Godıs Love
1 John 4:7-10
7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
Godıs love for you is unmatched by anything this world has to offer.
Only His love
- Calms a restless heart
- Heals a broken heart
- Removes bitterness and resentment
- Changes worry and doubt into hope and peace
- Resolves feelings of anger and disappointment
- Provides a since of purpose, self-worth, and healthy self-esteem to those who struggle with feelings of inferiority.
God views the span of your lifetime and sees only the potential your life contains. Failure and disappointment cannot divert His everlasting plan.
Many times, we can risk missing His richest blessing by worrying about what we should or should not do. When this happens questions fill our mind: "Did I do it right?" "Is God pleased with me?"
Godıs Love for you is complete. He loves you just the way you are and this will never change. When you feel as though you have let God down, mentally stop what you are doing and ask Him to make you sensitive to His truth.
He has set his affections on you. Therefore, you cannot disappoint an omniscient God. Our disobedience sometimes grieves Him, but He knows everything before it takes place.
His love for you is not conditional. It is an eternal choice He has made.
The more you trust God, the more you will find He is faithful
God
Psalms 33:16-22
16. No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength.
17. A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save.
18.But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,
19. to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.
20. We wait in hope for the Lord ; He is our help and our shield.
21. In Him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in His holy name.
22. May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord , even as we put our hope in you.
Fear is one of the most gripping emotions you will experience. The solution to overcoming fear is not positive self-talk or a greater effort to control my own behavior or the behavior of others. The solution is a broken humility and trust in a sovereign, engaged, and loving God.
Most of us can remember a time when fear took control of our thoughts. Many of the men and women of the Bible struggled with the same problem. Yet is was their faith in God that brought them through times of darkness, loneliness, and doubt.
If we make the choice to think of life from Godıs perspective, we will have hope because there is no hopelessness in Christ.
Take your stand against fear. Stop using words like "what if" and "but". Practice using words of hope such as "With God all things are possible".
