Meditate on Him
Meditation is consciously listening for the voice of God as we ready ourselves to be obedient to that which we hear. The great psychiatrist Carl Jung once said, "Hurry is not of the Devil, it is the Devil." If we ever hope that we will be able to experience God at a deeper level, we must slow down our pace and quiet our lives. It is only in doing so that we will be able to hear the voice of God and focus on God's word.
Spending time in meditation causes us to go into the deep recesses of the spirit. It takes us to a place of consciousness where cell phones and iPads cannot take us. It is there that we truly find our oneness with God.
We must "still and quiet our souls" as the Psalmist writes so that in the sacred stillness we may hear from God. Take time to listen silently for the voice of God. God will speak to you as never before and the blessing will be enormous.
With a listening heart,
