American Heart Association Empowered to Serve (ETS)

What is EmPowered to Serve?
ETS is a national strategic initiative partnering with Faith Based organizations to impact health and health outcomes in multicultural communities and seeks to advance the AHA’s 2020 Impact Goal.
ETS focuses on African Americans and Hispanics and was launched with an Inaugural Roundtable wherein faith based leaders from across the country joined the AHA to create a megacommunity that unites business, government and the nonprofit sector around a common set of goals.
Goal 1 - Increase Healthy Living Behaviors
-Improving high blood pressure management
-Increasing healthy diet score, Increase fruit and vegetable consumption
-Reduce sodium and sugar sweetened beverages
-Increasing physical activity
Goal 2 - Enhance the Chain of Survival
-Increasing usage of emergency response services
-(9-1-1) in response to CVD/Stroke warning signs
-Increasing CPR training in multicultural communities
Goal 3 - Expand Access and Empower communities - Increasing access to:
-Fruits and vegetables
-Safe environments for physical activity-
-Increasing engagement and partnerships to enhance skill training opportunities for youth and adults
