Southeast Welcomes the Carter Family
Meet the Carter Family – Darrel Carter Sr., (top right), Dawn Carter, Darrel Carter Jr. (top left) Donte Carter (middle), emilio Lee (bottom right) & Roberto Lee (bottom left). I had the pleasure of talking with Darrel & Dawn Carter – new members at Southeast SDA Church. The Carter family comes to us from the Lakewood SDA Church. They have been a part of the Southeast family for about 10 months. In this brief time they have already started to work in several areas of the church.
Dawn, who already has a very busy schedule, is working with the Women’s Ministry Department,. Darrell has dedicated his talents through singing in the church choir, working on the deacon board, and helping with the Prison Ministry Department. Their sons, Darrell Jr., 17, and Donte, 11, are active in the Pathfiinders Club and youngest son Donte plays the drums for the prayer meeting services on Wednesday evenings.
They are related to current members – James & Margaret Carter. Darrell’s younger brothers Roberto Lee, 15 and Emilio Lee, 17 also attend church with the family. What drew them to Southeast was Pastor Hurst – his exciting preaching and innovative programs. When asked what God means to this delightful couple – Dawn commented that God was a “healer” and Darrel praised God for renewing his spirit and working with his temperament. Southeast welcomes the Carter family, and is blessed to have them as a part of the Southeast church family.
